Rudy Obrero, originally from Hawaii, developed an interest in art while on tour in the Air Force, eventually drawing everything around him during off hours. He earned his A.A. at Leeward Community College and went on to get a BFA from the prestigious Los Angeles Art Center College of Design. His career began mainly with oil painting for movie posters such as Never Say Never Again (James Bond) and The Postman Always Rings Twice. Rudy was responsible for the early packaging art for Masters of the Universe, including the first Battlecat, Wind Raider, and the classic Castle Grayskull, among others. He also was the style guide artist for a number of renown movies, including E.T., Peter Pan, and The Mummy Returns. Recent projects have included posters for The Cat in the Hat and Digimon The Movie.
